ooh! and dear lord

Ooh!   Farmacia Ss.Annunziata Vaniglia Del Madagascar.  Could this be my favorite vanilla? Yes, it is.  It is THE vanilla for me. Warm, rich, and gives me the vanilla extract scent I have been longing for, and it is ever-lasting on my skin! Lemon, floral and amber notes, and Madagascar vanilla. Check out this review from Smelly Thoughts and one from Nathan Branch.

Oh dear lord, what were they thinking with The Vagabond Prince Enchanted Forest?  It is my fault, though - I really do tend to judge a book by its cover and a perfume by its name. Ughhh - I don't even think my teenage nieces would like this one! A wonderful thing about this experience is that now I am really digging Cartier L'Heure Vertueuse! ;)

I'm not sure how much longer I'll be keeping this blog because I'm having a difficult time juggling two blogs (my other blog is the cow jumped over the moon , named after my favorite nursery rhyme).  I'm feeling too compartmentalized, or something.  Maybe I'll merge the two?  What do you all think?

Oh, and here's a picture for us dog lovers out there (Lady Jicky! and others) - here's our mutt, Sephora!

It's 20134!  How long will it be before I don't have to cross out a 3?!!  Hope everyone is having a terrific start to this new year.

  1. Big pat on the head for Sephora !!!! What lovely eyes she has!
Talking about Sephora - we do not have that store here :(
Infact, many perfumes bloggers talk about we just do not have here - Rrrr.
I still love reading about them !
Carol - if it was me - I would merge the two !
Mmmm - but will you keep one of the names or make a new heading and name????

    1. My husband actually named her! In my family, all our dogs' names begin with an S, and since I was often going to that store, he suggested that name. Plus it works given that her eyes look like she has kohl around them! She's a sweetie. Oh, I'm sorry you don't have that store as they're really good about giving free perfume samples.

I should merge them, but I have to figure out how to do that. Hmmmm. And the name? Yeah, another conundrum. bloody frida jumps the moon!? hahaaaa

  2. Vaniglia del Madagascar by Famacia SS Annunziata - The ultimate vanilla indeed. I love how quiet it is for 20 minutes then it blooms. Or maybe it bakes on my skin because I can smell a toasty crust of warm vanilla. I order several samples vials at a time regularly but a full bottle must surely be in my near future.

Not everyone liked The Vagabond Prince but I wear that once a week for a stroll. Maybe childhood memories of wild Blackcurrent picking make this one resonate with me?

Happy Everything to you Bloody Frida for 2014 and beyond.

    1. Hello Jordan! I don't get toasty vanilla from it, which is okay with me! I should just keep purchasing samples. The full bottle price is astronomically expensive, esp now since I still don't have a job.

I think with regard to Enchanted Forest - it was all about expectations, and one of the reasons why I suck at perfume blogging. I bet it would smell really good on a guy - but I was expecting something else. And it was just tooo sweet for me. Now that you mention your memories, I'll try it again with the thought of young Jordan picking berries!

Thank you, my dear, and back at you for 2014!!!!

    2. Hey Jordan; I have tested it again a couple of times, and I regret to say it doesn't excite me - I need to have a perfume transport me, and maybe since I never picked wild blackberries as a kid, it doesn't lift me anywhere. I am glad it does it for you, though!

  3. Sephora is beautiful! Very cute looking, and mischievous a bit. ;)
If it's too much keeping up two blogs, I'm all for putting them into one, after all, I started mine with two completely different types of topics.

Btw, I need to get my hands on that vanilla! I love vanilla perfumes and you make this one sound perfect. :)

Thanks Ines - I think I will merge them. Perfume is part of my home life, after all. Yes, do try that vanilla - I would love to hear what you have to say about it! Thanks!

  4. Let's do the important part first: I vote for merging. It's easy to do: just choose which one you want to keep, change/merge/leave "as is" the name, give a link to to the chosen one from the last post on the one you're "closing", make an Archives page on the active blog and put there a link back to the blog you're "closing" - and that's it. Or, and don't forget to make Subscribe by e-mail option available on the active blog.

Now, the tiny comment: I really-really-really like wearing Enchanted Forest but I think the name has nothingto do with the perfume... Maybe I should write a post about it... Hm...

    1. Oh thanks Undina - I was concerned that it would be really difficult. I'll probably merge the other one into this one, as I have more followers over here. And like I said to Jordan, one of the main reasons I'm a crap blogger - I tend to expect certain things esp from the name. I will re-wear this weekend and see how I feel. And YES, please write a post about it!

    2. Testing it again a couple of times - I guess this one is just not for me. I even thought about it as "this was made by Ellena" just to see if my brain was stuck on the title too much.

  5. Hi Carol,

Happy New Year to you! I have knitted two hats and a pair of wristwarmers (now owned by Tara) over the holidays, so you were much in my thoughts. And oh, a HGV! Not a heavy goods vehicle but a holy grail vanilla....that sounds right up my alley! Re the blogs, merge away if it makes them easier to manage. ;)

    1. Oh Bonks, I would love to see the finished knitted goods! Yes, a total HGV vanilla. Wowsers! I just may splurge on a 5 ml decant at perfumed court. Although I am dead broke, the last thing I bought for myself, other than yarn and polymer clay to make hats and 'necklettes' to sell, was a crock pot that I ended up returning! Oh and a four dollar sweater at Goodwill.

I will merge!! Thanks for your vote of encouragement! xox

  6. Merging sounds good to me. A variety of subject matter is wonderful and I'd like to keep up! By all means merge.

    1. Another YES vote! Yes! Thanks BA - I really appreciate your input. I shall merge them - it may take a bit for me to figure it all out though. I will keep this one and merge the other into it (somehow!) :)

    1. Hello Portia! I may just archive this one as my other blog has more photographs, and they don't merge...but we'll see. As I have said, I'm a Libra and it takes me a long long time to make decisions! Thanks for stopping by!!
